Limited or Limitless
When you try something new, how do you refine your process? Do you start super simple and small, or do a lot at once to figure out what you like best?
I used to only draw on paper with ink, but then received an iPad as an amazing gift. At first, it felt strange to lose the tangible effect of the paper below my hand, but I quickly grew to love the options and capabilities that exist within the wonderful Procreate app.
A weak foundation can present issues though. Too many options can be overwhelming, and can place you in a vice grip of indecision. Before there was only a pen, and a piece of paper to wrangle.
However, too many options push for exploration, for development of new techniques and ideas - you are limitless! Weren’t there infinite possibilities within the piece of paper?
Where is the line between too little and too many options? Is one way better?
No options create tight constraints, which many imagine to boost creativity. Lots of options present boundless possibilities, which others argue can create a wider range of skills and agility.
Which path do you prefer, limited or limitless?
